Every job starts with a look up.We read the tree before we touch it.

Our approach

Tree-focused, ecological arboriculture. We protect what matters and manage only what’s necessary.

We put a tree’s long-term health and structure first, not just the job in front of us. That means careful pruning, considered cuts and straight answers about what really needs doing, including when the best thing is to leave a tree alone.

Safety

Planned, every time

Proper kit, a clear plan and rigging where it’s needed, so people, homes and gardens are protected from the first cut to the last.

Respect

The tree comes first

We prune for structure and vitality, and we’ll tell you honestly when a tree is healthy and better left as it is.

Craft

Left better than we found it

A clean finish, a tidy site and as much of the timber put to good use as we can manage.

Canopy to ground

How a tree comes down, the careful way.

Big removals look dramatic. Done well, they’re calm, methodical and quiet on the neighbours. Here’s what a typical dismantle looks like.

One

Inside the canopy

We climb on rope and harness and check the tree from the inside. Where the job needs it, we set up rigging before any wood is cut.

Two

Precision at every cut

Where space is tight we take a tree down in sections and lower each piece under control, so nothing lands where it shouldn’t.

Three

Down, cleared, done

When there’s room to fell, the tree goes exactly where we planned. Then we chip, stack and clear, and leave the site as we found it.

What we do

Caring for trees, protecting people, enhancing places.

For homeowners, landowners, estates and developers across South Wales.

  • Tree pruning & crown management

From delicate shaping to bigger reductions, we refine canopies to let in light and build better structure and long-term health.

  • Tree removal & dismantling

When a tree becomes unsafe or outgrows its space, our team takes it down safely, in sections where needed, with real precision.

  • Hedge cutting & maintenance

A neat trim or a major reduction. We keep hedgerows healthy, tidy and in shape.

  • Stump grinding & root removal

Clear the last trace of a felled tree and get your ground back for whatever comes next.

  • Tree planting & establishment

We’ll help you pick the right species for the right spot, and plant with foresight for a resilient future.

  • Tree surveys & reports

Clear, compliant reports for homeowners, landowners and developers, ready for planners, lenders and insurers.

  • Emergency call-outs & storm damage

When a tree fails without warning, we get there quickly and make the site safe.

  • Pest, disease & decay diagnosis

From ash dieback to fungal decay, we spot the threats and give you honest, practical advice.

  • Woodland & estate management

Long-term care plans for private landowners, estates and rural properties.

Some of these trees were here long before us. Looked after well, they’ll be here long after.

Timber milling

When a tree has to come down, its story doesn’t have to end.

We mill felled trees on site into slabs and boards, so a tree you lose can come back into your home or garden as something you’ll keep for years. Ask us about it when we come to quote.

Who you’ll meet

A small crew who love what they do.

Ridgway Trees is Kat, Chase and a tight-knit team of climbers and tree carers. You’ll deal with the same friendly faces from first visit to final tidy-up, and we’ll always explain what we’re doing and why.

When we’re not up a tree, we’re usually still outside, somewhere wet, green and Welsh.
